competitors?  You will probably be able to establish this from a broader competitive study your company has already carried out. It is still useful to supplement it with an analysis of your competitors in the SERPs (these are companies whose keywords strongly overlap with yours). You'll find them under the Competitors tab in the Organic Search tool , where you'll see common keywords with your own domain. img-semblog Use the Pages tab of this tool to see which pages generate the highest volumes of organic traffic. This data can help you identify what type of content to use to rank. Look especially at whether it's blog content, product and category pages, or other types of content that drive traffic, as this can help.

You identify opportunities to leverage further. Use the Last Review Keyword Opportunities tool to identify which keywords your competitors rank well for and which you don't . While we'll look at this topic more when we look at keyword research, it's worth undertaking this exercise at this point to help you understand how competitors are performing against certain keywords. To use this tool, simply enter your own domain and up to four competitors (you can enter competitors you have identified or choose from the recommended list in the drop-down menu).



From there, you will have an overview of how each of your competitors performs compared to yours on the identified keywords. Use this information to guide your keyword strategy. Use the Backlink Analysis tool to audit your competitors' link profiles to understand how they build links and where they come from. img-semblog At this point, it's also important to use this information to determine how big a link gap there is between your own domain and that of your competitors. This is the difference in link profile size between your own domain and that of your competitors, usually indicated by the number of referring domains.
